Animism, Activism and the Rights of Nature movement

Robert Macfarlane

I have only one piece of reading for the class, a long photo-reportage essay on a recent journey in the Brazilian Amazon, involving colleagues of mine in the Rights of Nature movement.

CN: references to murder and violent persecution of land protectors by state and corporate actors.

Students may need to yield an e-mail address to the InsideClimateNews site/mailing list in order to read it, but if so I contend this will be worthwhile; it's a Pulitzer-Prize-winning outfit, doing some of the most important world-reporting at present, to my mind.
